Ryan@LVAR.orgRyan was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Lehigh Valley Association of REALTORS® in September 2011. As CEO, Ryan oversees the Association’s finances, personnel, facilities management, community and government relations, MLS operations, Professional Standards, Lehigh Valley Real Estate Academy and the Lehigh Valley Real Estate Weekly publication. He is also responsible for maintaining open lines of communication with members, affiliates, staff and the Board of Directors.
Prior to his appointment as CEO, Ryan served as the Association’s Director of Government Affairs since 2005, where he developed the government affairs program from the ground-up. Prior to joining LVAR, he served as the Director of Legislation for a New York State Senator and as a Legislative Aide in the New York State Assembly. He also worked on a number of political campaigns in a professional and volunteer capacity for candidates and ballot issues on local, state and federal levels.
Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Criminal Justice at East Stroudsburg University and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the Rockefeller College of Policy and Affairs at the State University of New York. He is one of only fifteen prior or current association staff in Pennsylvania and one of 400 nationwide to have earned the REALTOR® Certified Executive (RCE) designation from the National Association of REALTORS®. He is also an approved real estate instructor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
He holds a professional membership in the American Society of Association Executives and the Pennsylvania Society of Association Executives. As a community leader, he was elected to the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners in 2009 and serves as its vice president. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Lehigh County Housing Authority and is active with the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.
